A Certified Commitment

Skema’s products are safe and comply with the main national and international industry standards.

The company is UNI EN ISO 9001 certified for the quality of product design, production and marketing. UNI EN ISO 14001 certification attests Skema’s compliance with environmental management system requirements.

Many of Skema’s products meet the Minimum Environmental Criteria (CAM), which are essential for working in the public sector. In addition, they are CE-marked according to the European regulations on construction products – EU Regulation No. 305/2011 – and certified for low formaldehyde and VOC emissions.

FSC and PEFC certifications guarantee the use of wood from responsibly managed forests, while Greener guarantees the use of clean and renewable energy.

Eleven Steps for Total Quality

We directly verify the conformity of our products with eleven internal control steps. We also utilise leading national and international bodies and laboratories to certify the performance of the entire product range, in particular with regard to legal compliance, safety, sustainability, health and quality.

Checking dimensions and weight

We check that the length, width, thickness and density in kg/m3 coincide with those declared in the data sheets.

Checking the functionality of the joints

We carry out an assembly test to check the functionality of the joints and ensure coplanarity between the planks.

Checking the profile of the joints

We use a projector to check that the profile of the joint is exactly the same as the original sample.

Checking the moisture content

An instrumental test is used to check the moisture content of the plank, on both faces.

Checking the reaction to heat and moisture

We evaluate the thermo-hygrometric reaction of the element through a series of tests at controlled temperatures and humidity levels.

Chemical resistance check

We check the resistance of the surface when it comes into contact with conventional substances such as water, ammonia, bleach, oil and coffee.

Checking the mechanical resistance

We check the resistance of the surface using the abrasimeter and the “squaring” method, which involves applying adhesive tape to a grid-etched area to assess the tightness of the paint.

Impact resistance check

We measure the deformation generated by the impact of a metal ball on the surface of a plank.

Scratch resistance check

We check the depth of engraving caused by a diamond point subjected to controlled force.

Finish check

We use master samples to check that the colour and texture of the finish match.

11

Water resistance check

We check the dimensional change of the sample after partial immersion in water for 24 hours.
