Skema 2025: a year-long project

“Living surfaces” across trade fairs, acoustic research and ESG strategy supporting architects’ and contractors’ projects

For Skema, 2025 was not just a positive year, but a true step change. The company consolidated its presence in Italy, strengthened its export activity, and placed the contract world at the centre of a model that integrates product, services, and sustainability. The numbers confirm it: in 2024 turnover exceeded 31 million euros, with double-digit operating profitability over the 2021–2023 three-year period—results that earned Skema a place among the “Best Performer Companies” of the province of Treviso, according to ItalyPost and L’Economia of Corriere della Sera.

The 2025 trade fair calendar—from Cersaie to Sicam, up to Arkeda—became the setting where architects, interior designers and contractors could experience firsthand the floor–wall–ceiling system: warm surfaces, vertical claddings and ceiling solutions designed to work in continuous harmony, both aesthetically and in performance. Each stand was built as a functioning microcosm, where materials, light and acoustic comfort interacted with the real flow of visitors and meetings.

In this context, Nicola De Menis summed up the main lever of the brand as follows: “What makes the difference is the team: the energy our people bring to the field. We had the opportunity to showcase not only our products, but above all our ability to connect and listen.” According to our CEO, “Skema’s real commercial strength does not lie only in quality—which after 33 years is widely recognised—but in kindness, in the way we welcome people, in placing them at the centre of the project.” A statement that applies to trade fairs, as well as to everyday life in showrooms, construction sites and meetings with design firms.

On the innovation front, 2025 strengthened two clear directions. On one hand, acoustic research, with micro-perforated wall and ceiling systems in which wood remains the protagonist while sound-absorbing performance works “in the background”, reducing reverberation time and improving speech intelligibility. On the other hand, technological wood floors, which optimize the use of noble material and offer high performance in terms of resistance to water, fire and impact—useful tools for those designing intensive interiors, from hospitality to offices and public spaces.

Skema’s growth continues to unfold along a dual geographical axis. In Italy, the focus is on strengthening relationships with specialised distributors and the design supply chain, offering not only surfaces but also technical support: installation plans, acoustic consulting, samples and digital tools designed to facilitate decisions. Abroad, the strategy aims to consolidate the brand’s presence in Europe and expand into selected Middle and Far Eastern markets, adopting an approach calibrated to the cultural and regulatory specificities of each area.

The ESG theme has become an integral part of Skema’s positioning. The first Sustainability Report, currently being finalized, makes measurable the work carried out on supply chain, energy and environmental impact: controlled use of wood, forest certifications, focus on emissions and VOCs, compliance with CAM and major European regulations. In parallel, an important investment in photovoltaics has been launched, aiming to reduce consumption from traditional sources and power—under advantageous conditions—a local energy community.

For Sonia Venaruzzo, Chief Strategy Officer, the tools with which the brand presents itself to designers also make a difference: “For us, communication and marketing are not decorative accessories but part of the project. Telling the story of our surfaces means giving designers clear technical information and coherent imagery. Formats such as trade fairs, events, magazines and newsletters show how our products work in real spaces. Only in this way do surfaces become a shared language with architects and contractors, as well as with the retail market, and relationships continue well beyond the single construction site ”.

Looking ahead to 2026, Skema intends to continue on this trajectory: deepening research on materials, extending floor–wall–ceiling integration to new interior types, strengthening dialogue with contract design, and making the offer increasingly clear for design firms and general contractors. The goal is clear: to transform our “living surfaces” into a true design infrastructure capable of integrating aesthetics, technology and environmental responsibility.
